Robert Žulj (Croatian pronunciation: [ʒuʎ]; born 5 February 1992) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or forward for LASK.[1][2]
Career
[edit]Greuther Fürth
[edit]In July 2014, Žulj joined Greuther Fürth from Red Bull Salzburg.[3]
Žulj finished the 2016–16 season, scoring 8 goals and contributing 9 assists in 32 league matches.[4] In June 2017, he announced he had decided not to renew his contract at Greuther Fürth.[3] In his time at the club, he made a total of 85 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring 19 goals and contributing 14 assists.[3]
1899 Hoffenheim
[edit]Days after announcing his decision to leave Greuther Fürth, Žulj signed a three-year contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.[4]
Loan to Union Berlin
[edit]In August 2018, he joined 1. FC Union Berlin on loan for the 2018–19 season.[5]
VfL Bochum
[edit]On 15 January 2020, VfL Bochum announced the capture of Žulj on a three-year deal.
Al Ittihad Kalba
[edit]In July 2021, Zulj joined UAE Pro League side, Al Ittihad Kalba where he scored five goals in 27 games.
LASK
[edit]After only one year in UAE, Austrian team, LASK brought in Zulj on a free transfer where he is still playing. He has made 45 appearances, scoring 19 goals in the process.[6]
Personal life
[edit]Žulj was born in Austria and is of Burgenland Croatian descent.[7] He is the older brother of Peter Žulj, who is also a professional footballer.[8]
