Shahzada Muhammad Yusuf also Sayed Muhammad Yusuf (abbr. S M Yusuf)[1] (1895 – 8 December 1979) was a field hockey player who represented two countries namely India and Afghanistan. The complication about his name is because in the 1928 Summer Olympics held at Amsterdam, he had participated as S M Yusuf which has been interpreted as Sayed Muhammad Yusuf by some quarters. In the official report of the 1928 Summer Olympics, nowhere name Syed Muhammad Yusuf has been mentioned but S M Yusuf. It appears that creation of his name Sayed Muhammad Yusuf is based on mere conjecturing.
