Template talk:Conservative Party (UK)

[edit]

Among the "Related organisations" entries Anon-Nemous added to the template on 27 April 2009 is "Connect". Connect doesn't list any such organization, and the closest match I could find online is Connect UK with the mission of "Promoting Britain And Its Values in Papua New Guinea". (It struck me a neither notable nor related to the Conservative Party.) What does "Connect" refer to in this template? -- Thinking of England (talk) 02:26, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be Connect Support Services. It took a bit of searching around to find that, though, so I don't know if it's significant enough to have a place on the template. I've fixed the link for now. Dekimasuよ! 00:37, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good job finding that, Dekimasu. Notability aside, Connect Support Services doesn't appear to be a "Conservative Party related organization". It's an IT company who's founder eventually became a Conservative MP. (The only thing the least bit political about it mentioned in either article is it's support for "increas[ing] the proportion of women working in the IT industry".) I propose that we remove this entry from the template. I have notified the user Anon-Nemous, who added the entry, so he can restore it if it refers to some other organization, or if CSS does have Conservative connections. -- Thinking of England (talk) 04:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed it. -- Thinking of England (talk) 02:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
