Template talk:Public health sidebar

[edit]

This sidebar could do with an image - I have selected one, but maybe there is a better one out there. Please do change if you find one! Jamzze (talk) 09:16, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think we need a better image, Jamzze (but I don't have one on my fingertips). The current one looks like three men to me. (it's very hard to symbolise people in general without it seeming that it's men - e.g. these ones have broad shoulders). Also it doesn't give any hint of policy aspects, looks like a doctor and a male nurse to me. Maybe we could ask for advice at the WikiProject Medicine? EMsmile (talk) 11:20, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I 100% agree a new one is needed. Additionally, public health has so many aspects I doubt we could depict them all.
I have found a more gender neutral symbol to use, let me know what you think. Again, please feel free to keep changing it until we can get something good! Jamzze (talk) 11:43, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jamzze, it's a bit better thanks but I think whenever we have symbols to denote people we have the problem that generic symbols are usually being interpreted as being male (unless they have longer hair). Also it does not show any diversity of people. Would it be better to look for an image without people at all? Does WHO have a symbol that they use for "public health"?
