I asked Bluerasberry to contact ClimateWorks Foundation, New Climate Institute, Human Impact Lab via e-mail for adding the core data we need to wikidata. I'm not sure whether he done so (and I won't do so directly as else it looks like I'm the only one working on this, whereas multiple people in Wikiproject Climate Change should work on it. As whether he done so and perhaps do so yourself if he hasn't done it (it's just an e-mail that needs to be sent, and you can point straight to the wikipedia wikiproject and wikidata wikiproject article pages, so it's clear we're working on this as a group. I'll also ask the others that have shown interest, discuss with them who contacts which organisation. --Genetics4good (talk) 14:53, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seaspiracy: confusing reference names[edit]

Hi Arcahaeoindris. For whatever reason, this article's references are given numbers and not meaningful names. I'm not complaining. I'm just worried that I'll misunderstand a reference and made an edit off the wrong reference cited. I just hope that you take any misunderstanding as an honest error and not at attempt at an error war. Thanks. Stix1776 (talk) 19:13, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stix1776, thanks for your message, this is much appreciated. I'll take a look. Sabin Nsanzimana moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Sabin Nsanzimana, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Regarding your correction on changing the third wave into second wave in COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia[edit]

As a matter of fact, Malaysia's Ministry of Health (MOH) or (KKM) in Malay, have confirmed that it was a third wave that started in September 2020 after the Sabah state election in the same month. The first wave was caused by imported cases from China in Malaysia with a total of 20+ cases only. Following the Malaysian political crisis in late February of 2020 and a religious gathering with more than 12,500 participants in early March of 2020, a second wave had been initiated. The one after the Sabah election is the third wave.Shahsukanulis (talk) 16:22, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Human overpopulation[edit]

Thank you so much for joining in the edits of the human overpopulation article. As you can probably tell from the talk page, I have been off and on for the last 8-10 months trying to reduce the extreme opinion content on that page, but the sources in the world are really hard to navigate without biology expertise -- there are a lot of armchair scientists writing in semi-reliable venues, making (often very racist) claims -- and there have been a handful of folks fighting to preserve some of the content. I don't have a lot of time in the short term to help, but am really supportive of the direction you are taking the article.Sadads (talk) 13:16, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Sadads: Thank you so much!! Thank you for bringing this to my attention a few months ago and recognise that improving that mess of an article will be a massive job. Doubt I'll be able to totally overhaul it but glad to have made a start. Perhaps could suggest this as a WP Task Force project? Arcahaeoindris (talk) 14:35, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Arcahaeoindris -- would you be interested in joining a small group that would coordinate an overhaul of this page? There is still quite a bit of work to do and it may be best to coordinate edits, so we don't step on each other's toes and make sure we agree on most edits. I have started to have Zoom calls on the subject with a few other people and you are welcome to join. However, I think you are in SE Asia, so time zones may be an issue, but let me know if you are interested and whether you are available on weekends (Sat-Sun). Thanks. Peteruetz (talk) 17:25, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Peteruetz: - thanks so much for asking! Although I am delighted to hear you are organising a group to do a much needed overhaul of the article, I only really edit WP as a hobby to pass the time :) so thanks for asking but may sit this one out. Am happy to lay off editing that article for a while to avoid affecting the group's consensus. As an aside, take a look at Sustainable population which is more or less a duplication of the overpopulation article. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 20:28, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

COP26[edit]

Hello, I just saw your contributions under the critique section. Is it appropriate to include what might be regarded by some to be "opinion", despite this offering a different point of view? I am asking this because I am kind of new here, would like to learn. Cheers Obama gaming (talk) 11:24, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Obama gaming: - thanks for reaching out and welcome to Wikipedia! The WP:POV policy means that Wikipedia articles should maintain a neutral and balanced point of view. Wikipedia itself is supposed to have no opinion, but including opinions or criticisms that come directly from reliable sources is allowed. You need to be careful with WP:WEASEL words, where editors try and express opinion in Wikipedia's voice without attributing who did the criticisng - improving neutrality can include saying who has expressed the critical opinion of the subject. Any criticism or particularly viewpoint should also not be given WP:UNDUE weight; for instance, if reliable sources are divided between criticising or praising something, but a Wikipedia article is extremely critical, that is probably unjustified, as would be the opposite. See WP:CRIT for more guidance on criticism in Wikipedia articles. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 12:33, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers mate, I'll take a look. Obama gaming (talk) 21:42, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Media request[edit]

Hi there! I hope you're well. My name is Marco Silva and I'm a journalist with BBC News in London. At the moment, I'm looking into how Climate Change Wikipedia deals with mis/disinformation on the platform. I've been speaking to some of the members of the Climate Change Project - and, bearing in mind all the work you've been putting into the COP26 page, I thought it would be worth speaking to you too. Could you please email me using my profile page? Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcoSilvaUK (talkcontribs) 15:07, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marco, thanks for reaching out. I actually couldn't find your email, but to be honest I think you'll be better talking to @Chidgk1: as they've been on this much more than I have! --Arcahaeoindris (talk) 19:42, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MarcoSilvaUK: or even posting on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Climate change Arcahaeoindris (talk) 19:43, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. My email is Marco.silva@bbc.co.uk. To be honest, even if we don't record an interview, I'm keen to speak to as many people as possible (off the record) just to make sure I understand the story I'm covering! If you have the time for a few questions, please drop me a line. I promise not to take too much of your time! Much appreciated. MarcoSilvaUK (talk) 22:06, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to that, I should have mentioned: to avoid having a male-dominated piece, I'm trying to speak to as many female Wikipedia editors as possible. That's another reason why I feel it would be great to hear about your experiences! Any time you might be able to give me would be super helpful. Thanks again - and hopefully speak soon. Boris Johnson columns[edit]

The New Statesman details columns in 2012 and 2013 saying the same thing as the 2015 one. That's what I was trying to convey with "repeatedly" but evidently I didn't do a great job. Can you think of a better way to convey that he made the same claims in multiple articles? SmartSE (talk) 17:26, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh and should we mention that he is a proponent of recycling ;) SmartSE (talk) 17:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Smartse: to be honest I thought you put it pretty well, but I didn't realise you were trying to convey more than one column. Have made an edit - feel free to review or amend as you see fit. Thanks for flagging this and for your work. But honestly, good luck in getting critical viewpoints across in that article - strong presence of supporters make it a challenging one to edit a lot of the time! Horror film article[edit]

Hey hey. I saw your comments on the horror film article. I'm thinking of trying to clean up the article a bit as we discussed. I've previously edited the film articles on things like List of horror films of the 1950s. Do you think this sort of content would probably be transportable to the current "Horror film article"? Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:45, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Andrzejbanas: thanks for reaching out and well done for having motivation to edit it. That sounds good to me. I would say if you're going to do it, slash (if you'll pardon the pun) everything from the 1950s section in Horror film that isn't sourced, is excessively lengthy or violates NPOV first. That should leave anything there worth salvaging (if any), which you can then combine with content from your list article. Perhaps we can take this to Talk:Horror film if further discussion needed. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 09:42, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Quick apologies on not being able to tackle the horror film article lately. I've been pretty busy with regular work, so that's been keeping me from further clean-up. Hope all is well! Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Biased editing of Covid-19 in Sweden[edit]

I appreciate your attempts to clean up the lead. However, it seems that your edits are biased towards a minority view without basis in available data that the Swedish corona strategy has been a failure, and you are removing text and sources that do not support that specific view, including statistics and statements from official Swedish sources. The cherry picked comparisons with countries half Sweden's size and omitting Latvia and Lithuania for being .... too small? are somewhat understandable for sources trying to push that view, but it does not make them less biased. Killmeister (talk) 17:37, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Killmeister: if you want to discuss this to improve the article, let's try and keep this to the talk page in question please, where you'll find I already explained my reasoning. I suggest you respond there if you have any issues with my edits. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 09:20, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The user was indef'd as sock, which pretty much sums things up. If they're not blocked on wikiquote, then DB will probably need to file a report, or whatever it is they do over there. (fyi/imo) - wolf 23:30, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Human Overpopulation Pageview Decline[edit]

Hey! Noticing that the article on Human Overpopulation is significantly lower pageviews than last year. Seems that the rewrite and redirecting has mitigated the heavy direction of folks to the topic, Sadads (talk) 15:00, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Impetigore Article[edit]

Thanks for your work on Impetigore! There are small flaws, but IMO it's decent, with some improvements (which I listed on the talk page) I could easily see this at B-class. VickKiang (talk) 03:41, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Weird user contacting me[edit]

Hello there! Sorry to bother you, I know this sounds weird since we have only seen each other at Music of the Spheres World Tour, but some random IP user is contacting me on Wikiquote and asking to edit Horror film. Looking at the history I've seen you were there recently, are you aware of anything that might have happened? I'm feeling REALLY uncomfortable with said user bombarding a Talk page I didn't even knew it existed right now. I just want to edit Coldplay articles in peace, I'm a big fan of theirs and want make sure their legacy is well registered. -- GustavoCza (talk) 01:35, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @GustavoCza: thanks for getting in touch and I'm so sorry that this person has been bothering you too. Basically a person has been evading multiple Wikipedia bans and creating numerous WP:SOCKPUPPETs to harass people about their disagreements with the Horror film article. I have no idea why they would message you. This has been going on for months unfortunately. Please just ignore them. Other editors are working to ban the sockpuppets and they will revert their edits to your talk page. Please don't be discouraged from working on the Coldplay articles :) Arcahaeoindris (talk) 08:38, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. See you around! GustavoCza (talk) 09:48, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Protected[edit]

I've semi-protected this page for a week. Note that the /64 IP pool this user is editing from has been blocked for a week as well. It's possible your fan might continue to attempt disruption of this page after this. If so, feel free to contact me on my talk page or place a new request at WP:RFPP. --Hammersoft (talk) 19:50, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hammersoft: thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I likely will be in touch on that but let's see! :) Arcahaeoindris (talk) 17:31, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

July 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi Arcahaeoindris! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at 2022 United Kingdom heat wave that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Lord Belbury (talk) 17:21, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Lord Belbury: that's really helpful to know! Will keep in mind. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 17:30, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Babadook you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:The Babadook for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Just wanted to add my congratulations to the bot message. That's a well put together article; I don't watch horror myself but thoroughly enjoyed reading about it. Can I tempt you to do some GA reviewing, by the way? You're a good writer, and we always need more good writers to do the reviews (and keep the review backlog down to manageable levels...). @Mike Christie: Hey thanks so much for the kind words! Can't take credit for writing most of the article but appreciate it nonetheless. Thanks for taking the time to review.
