User talk:Ctorella

The article Pickerel Pie Entertainment has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Streetsound requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://streetsoundmagzine.com/history. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is now listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2020 November 21. The external page is clearly marked "lastUpdateDate": "2020-08-04T13:43:13.406Z", so predates the Wikipedia page. You should probably go ahead and make an appropriate conflict-of-interest disclosure. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:16, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hey thanks for getting back so quickly..I'm not sure i entirely understand your point about the external site predating the WP. My first draft of the article was in August and that was the one i posted on the external site. If i have taken down the external page, I'm not sure i see the issue. Either way I'll try and work through it with the copyright folks Noted about the COI form as well.. thanks, I'm just a little frustrated since i feel like I've done nothing outside the spirt of WP rules. It was never clear that my article would be approved, and i didn't ever get a chance to address the issue, before my article was deleted. I don't recall tagging Streetsound for deletion, the logs show Onel5969 nominated it for deletion, and it hasn't been deleted yet, at least not under that name, so I don't know why you are asking me. However, you have an obvious conflict of interest which you must declare. You are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to post on your main user page at user:Ctorella, the following, duly completed. {{paid|user=Ctorella|employer=''InsertName''|client=''InsertName''}}}Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also, please remove the self-promotion from your user page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:13, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the confusion I misspoke about you being the source for the deletion... I have updated my talk page with the COI (since I was not paid I used the non-paid COI. I also added some background and context (hopefully that allowed?). I've also revised the self-promoting language from my talk page (thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate the guidance. Chris Chris Torella Ctorella 13:33, 22 November 2020 (UTC) Update - I've also added a section to the talk page of streetsound to address the copyright flagging.
