hello my friend Favonian, I would like to point out that Bal is formal surname in bengal, but not in maharashtra. Mr. Thackeray's full official name is Balasaheb, & Bal is his popular informal name, intially started by his close associates. he is addressed formally as balasaheb long before wikipedia was founded. it's inappropriate to address a big personality from my state by his informal name. check out local newspaper articles, or his video clippings, or his name on government documents, you will understand that he is honorific addressed as Balasaheb. 117.233.73.20 (talk) 18:22, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
