Somerset Maugham Award
The Somerset Maugham Award er en britisk litteraturpris som deles ut i mai hvert år av Society of Authors. Den blir tildelt den eller de som anses å være de beste forfatterne under 35 år som har utgitt en bok i det foregående året. Prisen ble innstiftet i 1947 av William Somerset Maugham og bærer hans navn. Prisen skal brukes på utenlandsreiser. Prispengene pr år er £12000.[1]
Siden 1964, har prisen vanligvis blitt delt mellom flere vinnere i det enkelte år. I 1975 ble prisen ikke delt ut. Prisen er to ganger blitt gitt til sønnen av en tidligere vinner: Kingsley Amis (vinner i 1955) var far til Martin Amis (1974), og Nigel Kneale (1950) far til Matthew Kneale (1988).
