Gençlik filmleri gençlere hitap eden bir film türüdür. Bu filmlerden bazıları gençleri olduğu kadar yetişkinleri de hedef almaktadır. Gençlik filmleri, 1950'lerde popülerliği arttırmaya başlamıştır.[1][2] Genç izleyicilerdeki artış nedeniyle, arabalı sinema salonları da popülerleşmeye başlamıştır.[2] 20. yüzyılın başında gençlik filmlerinin yapımı azalmaya başlamış ancak son zamanlarda, Netflix gibi çevrimiçi siteler tarafından yayınlanan genç odaklı filmler sayesinde tekrar bu film türünde canlanma yaşanmıştır.[3]
