Francis George Steiner[1] (23 Nisan 1929,[2] Neuilly-sur-Seine, Fransa- 3 Şubat 2020, Cambridge, İngiltere); Fransız asıllı Amerikalı edebiyat eleştirmeni, filozof, roman yazarı, çevirmen ve eğitmen.
1974 - 1994 yılları arasında Cenevre Üniversitesi'nde İngilizce ve Karşılaştırmalı Edebiyat profesörü olarak çalışan Stein, 1994-1995'te Oxford Üniversitesi'nde aynı görevde bulundu. 2001-2002 yıllarında ise Harvard Üniversitesi'nde şiir sanatı profesörlüğü yaptı.
Steiner yazar ve tarihçi Zara Shakow Steiner ile evliydi ve David ve Deborah adında iki çocuğu vardı.
