The men's 5000 metres at the 2024 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held in two rounds at the Stade de France in Paris, France, on 7 and 10 August 2024. This will be the 26th time that the men's 5000 metres is contested at the Summer Olympics. A total of 43 athletes will be able to qualify for the event by entry standard or ranking.

The men's 5000 m has been present on the Olympic athletics programme since 1912.

Qualification[edit]

For the men's 5000 metres event, the qualification period is between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.[5] 43 athletes are able to qualify for the event, with a maximum of three athletes per nation, by running the entry standard of 13:05.00 seconds or faster or by their World Athletics Ranking for this event.[5]
