I find this template very hard to follow. The combination of the deputised captains (ie stand-ins) with the true captains means that Bill Lawry appears to have only been a deputy captain in 1968. Adam Gilchrist (who I believe was always a deputised captain rather than a long-term captain) appears to have been both in this list.

Would it be better to have a list of deputised captains separated from the main list to fully differentiate the two? Perry Middlemiss (talk) 04:09, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This template looks unwieldy and a little bit ugly: do we really need the dates? I think it would look better with just the names. StAnselm (talk) 16:35, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
