Influenced[edit]

How can one say that indian mathematics was influenced by babylonian, greek, or anything else?

By comparing surviving works, reading the statements of contemporaries that a given work was based upon or influenced by some other work, or even by looking at the titles of certain works. For instance, just look at the titles of the treatises Yavanajataka and Romaka Siddhanta. Look up what they mean. selfwormTalk) 02:30, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding[edit]

The template currently doesn't explain the reason for bolded entries, could someone clarify? Brandmeister t 21:31, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, why are they bolded? From the first revision itself it have been bolded. And it appears that it was done to highlight more prominent/famous mathematicians. Is it appropriate?···Vanischenu「m/Talk」 07:00, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No they weren't. I removed them along with the "Modern" section. Solomon7968 09:12, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
