Regarding anime list AfD
[edit]Hi; thanks for your closure of the Lists of survival/music anime and manga AfD. I'd like to ask if you would be alright with refunding the music anime list to drafts? I'm hoping to continue the workshopping on it that I and Historyday01 were doing so we can see if there's a case to be made for salvaging its content or using its sources as a basis for a better article on the subject. Thanks very much for your time. silviaASH (inquire within) 14:54, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
- That makes sense, I figured somebody might want a copy. I have restored the list to User:SilviaASH/List of music and performing arts anime. Good luck with the article. Malinaccier (talk) 15:20, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. I'd love to keep working on it. Historyday01 (talk) 18:02, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – June 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2025).
- An RfC is open to determine whether the English Wikipedia community should adopt a position on AI development by the WMF and its affiliates.
- A new feature called Multiblocks will be deployed on English Wikipedia on the week of June 2. See the relevant announcement on the administrators' noticeboard.
- History merges performed using the mergehistory special page are now logged at both the source and destination, rather than just the source as previously, after this RFC and the resolution of T118132.
- An arbitration case named Indian military history has been opened. Evidence submissions for this case close on 8 June.
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is open until 17 June 2025. Read the voting page on Meta-Wiki and cast your vote here!
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in June 2025, with over 1,600 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Sign up here to participate!
- The Unreferenced articles backlog drive is happening in June 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles tagged with {{Unreferenced}}. You can help reduce the backlog by adding citations to these articles. Sign up to participate!
You gave Dahawk04 rollback?
[edit]Hello! I couldn't help but notice you gave Dahawk04 rollback?! I find this a little odd given their recent conduct (and overall lack of editing history - not even 400 edits)?
Tagging @ElijahPepe as a courtesy. Their responses at an AfD Dahawk04 raised meant they needed an AI crafted reply to "request administrator intervention to enforce civility". A threat they actually followed up on.
Maybe I'm overthinking things here, but it just seems a little insane to me. OXYLYPSE (talk) 21:33, 18 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi OXLYPSE, thanks for your message. While I think Dahawk04's comments in that AFD revealed some sensitivity and hurt feelings in response to what looked like an innocuous comment from ElijahPepe, I do not see anything in that discussion that would suggest misuse of rollback to revert vandalism. To be clear, I think jumping to complain about civility in response to a fair comment is poor form and overreactive, but I do not think it rules out having rollback. The requirements for rollback are very lax (about 200 mainspace edits and a bit of experience reverting vandalism).
- That said, I took a look at Dahawk04's reverts and use of the rollback tool just to be thorough. While Dahawk04's anti-vandalism work that I spot checked prior to the request for rollback looked fine, I found some issues with the use of rollback since receiving the tool. Rest assured that I have provided a warning and will remove the rollback right if it is used improperly again. Thanks for tipping me off to take a second look.
