[edit]Hello, I'm ResolutionsPerMinute. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fell in Love with a Girl, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 00:38, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi Newtatoryd222! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of I'm in Love with My Car several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:I'm in Love with My Car, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 15:40, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Canadian Idiot personnel
[edit]Hi. In this edit you added the personnel for the studio recording of the Weird Al song Canadian Idiot. I did not see where the information was available at the provided source, Tidal. Is there some sort of hidden link or mouse-over? Also, these are the regular members of his band since his first album, I don't know if it's worth mentioning if sources discussing the song don't mention them (ie: it can be assumed). (These issues of verification and importance of inclusion may apply to the edits you made to several other song articles over a period of a few hours.) – Reidgreg (talk) 14:49, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Tidal is an app. So you need the app to see the personnel that i have referenced on the personnel that i have contributed. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 15:13, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, and also he has guest musicians on his songs. So the personnel can be different at times. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 15:15, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Then go to the album that has the song and click on credits. Then find the song and press the down arrow (it depends on what device you’re using) and then you’ll find the credits/personnel. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 15:19, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- I could see that if there were guest musicians, but there don't seem to be any for this recording.
- Sourcing an app seems problematic to me, as content may change quickly without notice and it can't really be archived. In the Tidal terms of service point 15 paragraph 2 states:
TIDAL makes no warranties or representations about the TIDAL Service or Service Content, including but not limited to their accuracy, reliability, completeness, efficacy, or timeliness. TIDAL shall not be subject to liability for truth, accuracy, or completeness of any information conveyed to the user or for errors, mistakes or omissions therein or for any delays or interruptions of the data or information stream from whatever cause. You agree that your use the TIDAL Service and the Service Content is at your own risk. It is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any opinion, advice or other Service Content available through the TIDAL Service.
- This is pretty typical of apps. I found something similar when evaluating the use of Google Maps as a source. Basically, if the publisher has a disclaimer about the accuracy and truthfulness of their information and to "use at your own risk", then we shouldn't treat it as a reliable source. At the bottom fo the Tidal pages it says Tidal is a fan-centered music platform. For a reliable source, we should ideally look for something that is research-centered.
- The sources used in Canadian Idiot at the time of its good article review were vetted and found to be reliable and to verify the article content. The addition of a non-reliable source could cause the article to lose its good article status. So I'd like to ask you to revert your edit to the article and remove the Personnel section. Thanks. – Reidgreg (talk) 14:51, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- I don’t know how to the mobile website. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 19:11, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- And also. If that were the case. The the personnel for Message In A Bottle shouldn’t be there. Unless I’m wrong. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 19:14, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, and also this Newtatoryd222 (talk) 03:43, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- One more thing. If you go to Liner notes and scroll down to metadata in the contents section. There is a sentence that talk about Tidal. Newtatoryd222 (talk) 03:51, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- I don't feel there are many articles where it would be justifiable. Message in a Bottle (The Police song) is only a Start-class article so it's not a good example. The sentence in Liner notes is sourced to Tidal.com rather than an independent source. Reliability aside (not that that isn't a huge issue) this seems awfully promotional to me: it isn't providing any new information which couldn't be assumed or found in the parent article (the album the song is found on), while it is mentioning Tidal in-text, linked, and the reference points to their website. It's also a bit of a concern to me when I see such edits to several articles in a short period of time, and Tidal.com has shown up on link reports at Wikipedia:WikiProject Spam. – Reidgreg (talk) 14:11, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Hey Jude.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hey Jude.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
Replaceable non-free use File:Dave Bickler.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dave Bickler.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
