On every page were at the bottom is written "This page was last changed ... for details." the following three links aren't in a row as on other pages. -- 141.30.212.78 11:41, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- _ _ I think you are saying
- On every page, at the bottom where it starts by saying
- This page was last changed
- and ends with
- for details.
- it ends with three links. On most pages those links are rendered on the same line. I'm concerned about a page where they aren't on the same line.
- On every page, at the bottom where it starts by saying
- But maybe i just don't understand, because i don't know what page you're talking about.
- _ _ I see your IP number was used in editing Image talk:Human-woman.png, but it renders normally for me. I assume you realize that lines from MediaWiki servers render differently depending on how you size your browser windows, for most browsers.
- _ _ Sounds like you should tell us more, or say the same thing in other words.

- F.e. First Nations: the 3 links Privacy policy, About Wikipedia, Disclaimers aren't in a line in contrast to the 3 at the bottom of any page when you are editing that one. -- 141.30.66.137 15:59, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

- Okay, thanks for explaining. I did my posting as a bug report, so that someone probably could edit the concerning template or something like that. Actually, I'm not interested in the look of simple :-) I just wanted them to know that.
- If I should correct your German, I would do it. Its okay, but not perfect :-) -- Amtiss, SNAFU ? 20:34, 17. Apr 2006 (CEST)

- "To correct is my duty, although I understand, that teaching is not yours." Did you mean that ?
- Okay, just some hints: um etwas bitten -> "und bitte vorher um Entschuldigung"; Mir nach -> Meiner Meinung nach / Meines Wissens (opinion/knowledge) -- Amtiss, SNAFU ? 21:33, 17. Apr 2006 (CEST)
- Thanks. I was trying for "To improve [myself, specifically my German]...". Quite likely English differs from German in construing "improve" (where no direct object is present) as either "gain skill" or "regain health" (with context determining which of the two is intended). Would Selbstverbessern have been clearer? Was my paraphrasing of Schikaneder a pompous mistake?
- I can't recall where i picked up "mir nach"; could it be slang or dialect, or am i just confused? Or are you saying that it sounds awkward or confusing where i used it? In English, i'd have said "My guess is". Perhaps the issue is that by using mir nach, i failed to clarify whether i meant IMO (meiner Meinung nach) or IFAIK (meines Wissens nach)?
- Most of my Sprachübung nowadays is with an American whose accent and daily-life vocabulary vastly exceed mine, but who considers my grammar and formal vocabulary stronger. I convinced them that mir nach is good German some years ago, tho i can't remember now where i got that idea. If it isn't, i've got some explaining to do!
- Thanks again,

Well, I didn't await that you would paraphrase a classic person. My thoughts also went in that direction, but I decided that this must be an error :-) So, I would be interested in a quotation (is 'citation' as good ?) of Schikaneder. (Maybe it would be better to take the article 'die' of "Pflicht" instead of 'das', but I'm not sure.) Interpreting 'improve' really seem to differ, so if there's no relation given directly Germans think you relate on a thing rather than a person, especially if it relates on the speaker. Instead of your neologism "selbstverbessern" (Sprachenübunggierig is also a neologism, but a cool one :-) you could have written "mich (selbst (zu)) verbessern". Yes, ... "mir nach", hmmm, for me it sounds like "Stay behind me!" :-) (literally "folge mir" bzw. "folgt mir"). If I make a brainstorm, a lot of other possibility come to my mind, where you could have taken these 2 words, but slang or dialect aren't part of those possibilities. If you cite a person you say f.e. "nach Friedrich Schiller". Or maybe you confused it with "Wenn es nach mir geht.." (If I had to make that decision..). I just don't know.
Although I didn't answer I like to talk to people in other languages, but then I like more to speak in real. Well, sorry for answering so late. Amtiss, SNAFU ? 23:18, 16.

Vielleicht the Germans walk the walk und brauchen nicht darüber to talk the talk!
„Sprachenübunggierig“ war, meinte ich, so logisch als „neugierig“; es sieht ja als verstanden aus!
