- September - The Opéra-Comique moves from Salle Ventadour to Salle de la Bourse in Paris.
- Théâtre des Folies-Dramatiques opens on the site of the Théâtre de l'Ambigu-Comique on the Boulevard du Temple in Paris under Frédérick Lemaître.[1]
