Gauthami, (Malayalam: ഗൗതമി; Hindi: गौतमी; Korean고타미); (born on March 12, 2003), also known by her stage name Aria (Malayalam: ആര്യ; Hindi: आरिया; Korean아리아), is an Indian singer[1][2] and rapper based in South Korea, and former child actress. She is a member of a global k-pop girl group called X:IN. She is also part of sub-unit 'Triple Iz' which has members with various nationalities and diversity. [3]

Early life[edit]

Aria was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, and later when she was in fifth grade, she with her family shifted to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and she also completed her schooling in Mumbai.[4] She can speak four different languages, English, Korean, Malayalam and Hindi. She learned Korean from her school’s President’s Daughter and also watched Korean Dramas online to learn Korean. BTS‘s song "Blood Sweat & Tears" made her interested in K-pop. When she was in seventh or eighth grade, she started planning to become a K-pop artist.

Career[edit]

She made her debut with Melvilasom as a child actor in 2011.[5] Later in 2013, she played the role of Arun's daughter in the movie Thank You.

She was selected as a member of the GBK Entertainment's MEP-C[6]in 2022[7]and later she along with her present bandmates debuted as part of X:IN under Escrow Entertainment on April, 2023, with her groups debut song Keeping the Fire.[8][9][10] Later, She debuted as one of the members of 'Triple Iz' which is a sub-unit project with members of different nationalities like Dita from Indonesia and E.ji from South Korea With Single 'Halla'.
