History

[edit]

The Club was formed in 2001 and played in the Yorkshire & Humberside league before being promoted to North East Women's Premier League 2005–06. Just two years later they were champions of that league and were promoted to Northern Combination, but only stayed for two seasons and was back playing in the NEWPL. In 2011–12 the club merged with Beverley Town Ladies and in four years have gained promotion to the Women's Premier League Northern Division One after finishing champions in 2014–15. Promotion then followed to the FA Women's Premier League, the third tier of the women's football pyramid, in 2018 – the highest level the club had competed in. The clubs stay was ended in 2022 with relegation back to the fourth tier, the now rebranded FAWNL Division 1 North. Two season back at tier 4, in May 2024 Hull City Ladies secured promotion in to the FAWNL Norther Premier with a 5–1 win over local rivals Leeds United, to secure the Tier 4 title.[2]
