This is a list of urban areas in the Republic of Ireland with their populations from the 2016 census.[1] The population represents the entire settlement area of each town and city (including suburbs and environs). For convenience, all cities included are shown in bold. This list includes the top 100 urban areas as defined by the Central Statistics Office in 2016.
