Paul Cornwell (born 31 October 1963)[1] is a British pop singer and guitarist. He has played in many bands that were a part of the British Invasion.

Career[edit]

Cornwell, born in Lincoln, learned to play the piano and guitar at eight years old.[1] During his career, he has performed on stage with Denny Laine, Peter Wood (of The Bleeding Heart Band), and Snowy White.[1]

In March 2008, Cornwell joined the Union Gap, a UK tribute act to American group Gary Puckett & The Union Gap.[2]

In 2013, Cornwell left the Union Gap and joined Herman's Hermits[3] on lead guitar.[4] In January 2015, Trevor Ward-Davies a.k.a. "Dozy" of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, died at the age of 70. Cornwell was brought in on bass, performing as "Dozy II".[5] As of 2024, Cornwell still tours Europe with DDDBMT, featuring original "Beaky" John Dymond.[6][7]

Cornwell left Herman's Hermits in 2019. He was subsequently replaced by Ray Frost.
