Plainclothes is an upcoming film directed by Carmen Emmi and starring Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth.
Premise[edit]
An undercover police officer in New York State in the 1990s is employed to entrap and arrest gay men in the act of public indecency. However, becomes drawn to a targeted man. It is inspired by true events.[1]

Production[edit]
The film marks the feature length directorial debut for Carmen Emmi, who also scripted the film. It is produced by Arthur Landon, Colby Cote and Eric Podwall for Page 1 Entertainment and Lorton Entertainment.[2]
Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth were confirmed in the lead roles in March 2024.[3] That month, Amy Forsyth and Christian Cooke also joined the cast,[4] as well as Maria Dizzia, John Bedford Lloyd and Gabe Fazio.[5]
Filming got underway in Syracuse, New York in February 2024.[6][7] First-look images from the set were released in March 2024.[8]
