Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, peoples rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension
{{quotation|{{center|The Principle of Least Drama says that given a choice between several ways of dealing with a problem, pick the one that generates the least drama. If the only approach you can think of is laden with drama, sign off for the night. You may think of a new alternative in the morning, or someone else may have implemented a better approach. Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United State

- "This man, whom I should have recognized as the senior senator of the state I was in and who was in the Federal building on Senatorial business when and where the incident took place, burst into a room (well maybe not "burst" but he was in the room), and started advancing toward the podium, (or was just trying to get my attention} interrupting an opening statement (which was basically mis- information about the downtown LA situation, elevating his voice to get my attention, [and] shouting questions. As soon as I saw him I looked away. Nondescript, non-uniformed people tried to stop him from interrupting the press conference. He refused and resisted and shouted that he was Senator Padilla from California and continued to lunge towards the podium (from about 30 feet away)," Noem said. "That is when he was removed from the room. The way that he acted was completely inappropriate."
- She added Padilla's behavior was not becoming of a senator or public official. She did not comment on the appropriateness of herself or of her staff
- "Perhaps he wanted the scene … but I think the American people are sick of this kind of action," Noem said. "I think the American people are tired of this. They just want the truth, and they just want to know what's happening, and that's what we were trying to provide."
- A different way to report the story:During a news conference in Los Angeles on June 12, 2025, Noem failed to recognize the senior United States Senator from California, Alex Padilla, who was present at the news conference. When Senator Padilla attempted to ask the Secretary a question, he was forcibly removed from the room, pushed to the ground, and handcuffed by FBI and Secret Service agents.[1]=
- The previous day while discussing Gavin Newsom...."The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation -- this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism."
