Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist and topic subscriptions to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.
Thank you!

[edit]Hey Complex, why did you close the RfD as Delete? Jay 💬 07:23, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Jay: I admit I had a hard time understanding your !vote; it did not read as a clear-cut !vote to keep. I'd be happy to undelete and relist if you believe this merits further discussion. Complex/Rational 15:04, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- That is fine. That discussion had minimal participation anyway. Someone will create the unquoted redirect if they think it is really important. Jay 💬 01:33, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

Consensus was delete, but page wasn't deleted
[edit]Hi Complex, in November this Redirect discussion was decided as delete. But the page was redirected rather than deleted to here. I found it strange that it was still up as there was consensus on delete so I tagged it as CSD thinking it got forgotten. If I am missing something please ignore. Nayyn (talk) 23:07, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Nayyn: The project page was merely a redirect and did not have substantial page history; the redirect actually was deleted and not recreated. Whenever a redirect is sent to WP:RFD, only the status of the redirect is discussed, and the outcome of a discussion has no implications for the target page. Along the same line of reasoning, a redirect being deleted as an implausible typo would naturally not imply that the (correctly-spelt) target article should be deleted.
- That said, I declined your speedy deletion request: WP:CSD#G4 requires substantially identical content in both a deleted and recreated page. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers, Complex/Rational 23:28, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – June 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2025).
- An RfC is open to determine whether the English Wikipedia community should adopt a position on AI development by the WMF and its affiliates.
- A new feature called Multiblocks will be deployed on English Wikipedia on the week of June 2. See the relevant announcement on the administrators' noticeboard.
- History merges performed using the mergehistory special page are now logged at both the source and destination, rather than just the source as previously, after this RFC and the resolution of T118132.
- An arbitration case named Indian military history has been opened. Evidence submissions for this case close on 8 June.
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is open until 17 June 2025. Read the voting page on Meta-Wiki and cast your vote here!
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in June 2025, with over 1,600 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Sign up here to participate!
- The Unreferenced articles backlog drive is happening in June 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles tagged with {{Unreferenced}}. You can help reduce the backlog by adding citations to these articles. Sign up to participate!

[edit]Thank you for closing the AfD for Jared Safier. Now, upon review, I discovered that this page has been deleted several times for advertising and self-promotion, as evident in the deletion log. Would it be possible to put a lock on the page, to prevent it from being created yet again? BOTTO (T•C) 00:55, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
