NowCommons: File:BirminghamUKSkyline.jpg[edit]

File:BirminghamUKSkyline.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Birmingham -UK -Skyline.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Birmingham -UK -Skyline.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 13:13, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: City status of Durham[edit]

I'm sorry you feel this absurd. However, I'm afraid this really is the reality of the situation. Take a look through the London Gazette for 1 April 1974 - you will find that all cities pre 74 were abolished and that the new local government districts had to (re-)petition the Crown for borough/city status. It is a technicality and truism of the Local Government Act 1972. User:Lozleader is a user you may wish to consult if you seek greater depth to this issue, which I can understand causes confusion. --Jza84 |  Talk  03:16, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus test on university topics[edit]

You previously commented on the RFC on the notability of residences at colleges and universities. A consensus test has been posted to evaluate what, if any consensus, has been reached on the issue. Please go and comment at: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#Consensus test. Madcoverboy (talk) 18:10, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Dalton Maag[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Dalton Maag. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dalton Maag. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Southampton[edit]

Hi, I'm moving to Southampton soon, and I'd like to know how I can put one of those "This User Lives in [Southampton]" on my user page. You know, the ones with the nice little picture. I currently have on my user page

This user lives in London.

but all I did was copy the source from someone else's profile. If you could help my out, I would be very grateful. Thanks Colt .55 (talk) 17:36, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Staines / Guido Fawkes entry[edit]

I see you are one of the leading editors for my Wikipedia entry.

I've come to the conclusion that as my daughters can now read and have started to use Google that I would like it to be a bit more balanced. It is largely written by my enemies and then moderated more fairly by the likes of you. It basically focuses only on things that have surfaced on the web, usually contentiously. It ignores positive events. For example out of hundreds of TV and radio appearances it devotes a lot of space to one appearance.

Also it doesn't reflect my life at all. For example I don't actually write the blog nowadays, that seems a fundamental error.

Now how do we go about doing a major rebalancing of the article? I don't want to do the whole re-write myself because I feel I would be accused of whitewashing it. Also shouldn't we disentangle me personally from the Guido Fawkes brand? I can be contacted via pds@order-order.com. --Pds2012 (talk) 21:38, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Gavin Brown (diver), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Diver (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
