Your name is listed as maintainer of the British Columbia Portal, as you have made a number of edits. Please remove it, if you wish. maintainer . The British Columbia Portal has no red links any more, has been removed from Portals under construction, has randomized content and a news robotic server, so the portal stays fresh and new. Do you think the two portal templates should be merged? Disputed non-free use rationale for File:NPBLogo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:NPBLogo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:04, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of French American International School (Portland, Oregon)[edit]

The article French American International School (Portland, Oregon) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No reliable sources to establish notability of a primary school. (I looked for some, and also spent time improving the article)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. tedder (talk) 00:21, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Hello. Could you cite some sources for the article you created, Mission laïque française? As it stands, there is no assertion of notability. Thank you. 152.16.59.102 (talk) 00:16, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mission laïque française requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Swahili[edit]

Hello, I was wondering why you are changing lots of instances of Kiswahili to Swahili?--BelovedFreak 19:49, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw an article that referred to both Swahili and Kiswahili and I thought I'd make it consistent in the article. Then I did more pages. I used this and this, so I thought that was the right thing. FJM (talk) 05:14, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I agree it should be consistent within an article. I had just noticed the changes, not the other instances in the article. Thanks for the explanation.--BelovedFreak 09:11, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SDET: Software Development Engineer in Test or Software Design Engineer in Test?[edit]

Why, may I ask, did you change "Software Development Engineer in Test" to "Software Design Engineer in Test"? The former seems to be more commonly found on microsoft.com and on the Internet in general, which causes me to question why you consider the latter to be more correct. Jeremy Reeder (talk) 03:58, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sigma DP, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. You gave no references at all, which is worrying when you are writing about products.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: high-end... Sigma claimed this (comparatively large) sensor size would result in DSLR quality images (Sigma is not an independent source) compact, yet capable. — basically, your text is just repeating company claims
  • Reviews of these cameras— what reviews? If you are going to talk about reviews, you need to supply links so we can see that they are credible independent third-party sources, not just random websites
  • There is nothing to indicate the sources for your table, which without proper sources is just WP:OR
  • If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it. That's not an accusation, just a standard pointer.

I'm not prepared to restore as is, but I've seen much worse so I'll move it to a sandbox if you wish. You will need to provide proper references as defined above and write factual NPOV text. If you wish to proceed, just let me know Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:05, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Foma Bohemia[edit]

Hello FJM,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Foma Bohemia for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

The article Foma Bohemia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Non-free rationale for File:Louis Erard regulator.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Louis Erard regulator.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
