Opting in to VisualEditor[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 50 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:24, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

R211[edit]

Please provide an actual link to a source for the statement, "In the MTA's 20 Year Capital Assesment it mentioned the possibility that the R211 will feature open gangways, which will allow passengers to seamlessly walk throughout the train." on the R211 (New York City Subway car) article. Simply saying where it is found is technically not enough. Thank you. Mysteryman557 (talk) 00:54, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hillside vs. Woodhull Park/Rockaway Junction stations[edit]

Evidently, Rockaway Junction (LIRR station) was two blocks east of Hillside (LIRR station), if you look at some of the evidence. Some of the references also show Hillside as being listed as far back as 1909, which you've already mentioned. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 05:05, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Holidays[edit]

Happy holidays and happy new year to my Editing Wikipedia "WikiProject New York City Public Transportation", editing coleuge(I have trouble speeling this word, it means two people who work at the same place.). From, very friendly, Doorknob747 00:56, 17 December 2014 (UTC) here is a gift of something rarely seen: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_interior_of_a_busy,_R160B_R_train.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doorknob747 (talkcontribs) 23:25, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. While I appreciate your edits to create these templates, I don't really think it is necessary. All the stations are linked from IRT Jerome Avenue Line, so we really don't need navboxes for every single station. It creates more workload for the Wikipedia servers. Maybe we can create a template for all New York City Subway stations, and have an option to display only one or two lines instead, like this: {{NYCS stations|Jerome=yes}} to display Jerome Avenue stations, etc.

Please also don't remove the category. The category is for internal purposes, and groups the stations by NYCS division, opening date, location, etc.

Thanks. Epicgenius (talk) 22:03, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind at all. I have no problem with making templates for everything New York City Subway-related. I think he should go ahead and continue to do so. I think they're great. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 23:32, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kind of unrelated, but {{NYCS stations navbox}} now exists. Epic Genius (talk) 01:55, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Your Comment[edit]

I agree with the 57 Street (Q) reroute editing, and realize that was a mistake. But there was no need to delete my Broad Street information and the SAS 116 and 106 and 125 Street information. The original IRT Second Ave line had demolished stations that are on wiki, so why can't 125, 116 and 106 be there as well? Broad Street also needed information from the old (M) and (R), so why remove that as we'll? I don't mean to sound mean, but you just deleted everything I made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AahdTahar (talkcontribs) 04:43, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, then if you are doing the Broad St editing you will need to do that for every subway wikipedia page, which you are not doing. In addition, the 125, 116, and 106 are only proposed while the abandoned station exists. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 13:29, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And this is the exact reason why nobody can learn anything on the subway, of you want me to do that of every single station, then fine, I'll do it, but please don't delete it if you only see it on one page, I will continue on doing the rest. And about the SAS, did you not see that I clearly expressed the word "under planning"? And there is already a lot of proof of those stations existing, plus I included the fact of the failed SAS tunnels, and that's all I need to make the article according to Wikipedia guidelines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.232.165.43 (talk) 15:41, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

May I edit the 6 Train Page[edit]

Since you know a lot on the system, may I please update the 6 train page with the fleet swap article? Thank you. AahdTahar (talk) 21:52, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me, but the subway service pages are for the service's routing, not for what cars operated on the service. It would take a lot of work, but this would need to be written on the subway car pages, but this is already written. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 00:49, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained blanking.[edit]

I am here to tell u about a unexplained blanking that you have done on the columbus circle subway stop. Please comment before blanking, not doing this repeatedly may lead to a need to call a admin, to report vandalism.Doorknob747 (talk) 22:57, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That is one incident with no evidence. It is badly written, and there are many minor incidents that happen in subway stations every day, and those don't belong on wikipedia pages unless they are major incidents, and this is clearly not major as it isn't mentioned anywhere, I am sorry if I didn't explain it. Deletion discussion about Humboldt Street (LIRR station)[edit]

Hello, Kew Gardens 613,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Humboldt Street (LIRR station) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Humboldt Street (LIRR station) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

The LIRR Today[edit]

I removed them because the website leads to a Google Login page. The link is considered to be dead, because when I sign in to Google, it says, This blog is open to invited readers only

It doesn't look like you have been invited to read this blog. If you think this is a mistake, you might want to contact the blog author and request an invitation. This link, thus, leads to a dead end and has no info. Epic Genius (talk) 16:27, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was invited, but I have two separate email accounts, one in which I was invited and one in which I wasn't. For some reason I still get in when I am using the one I wasn't invited from, which made me lead to believe that the author of the website opened it up to more than just people invited. Have you tried the link? Even when I am not logged in to an email it still works, with the link. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 16:33, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I restarted my computer and I tried it with another account, and it didn't work. Something weird was happening with my computer. Sorry about that.Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 16:43, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was not given any invitation. However, I often commented on the website, so I should have gotten invited. Epic Genius (talk) 17:25, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I asked him on subchat, his username is lirr42, he is also on nyctf. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 17:42, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For some weird reason, I can't access NYCTF. Error message there, too. Also, I'm not a member of SubChat. Epic Genius (talk) 18:15, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by an error message on NYCTF? You can easily become a member of subchat. However, you are more likely to get access via NYCTF. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 19:55, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I had an account, but when I try to access NYCTF, it now displays an error message, saying "SORRY, BUT THE PAGE YOU REQUESTED WAS NOT FOUND. It seems that the page you were trying to reach doesn't exist anymore, never existed, or may it has just moved. Use the links in the navigation bar to get out of this page." My proxy is blocked. However, I'll take up your suggestion and register for SubChat. Epic Genius (talk) 01:30, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep both him and the A train article on your watchlist, just in case he continues reverting the Broad Channel image. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 23:50, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kew Gardens, I suggest that while you should keep the A train article in good shape, you should probably not edit war over the image, either. This seems to be a content dispute, so maybe you should discuss it on the talk page of the article. Epic Genius (talk) 17:34, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Epicgenius: I hated how I got blocked for editing warring, harrasssment, and personal attacks, and also how I got called out for socking, but yet, that IP address that keeps on edit warring with me on the A train article never got blocked for editing warring and socking. This is totally frustrating and I will not put up with this anymore! Either the staff does something to get rid of him or I will do something to get rid of him myself, seriously and strictly speaking. I've already explain why I reverted the dude and yet he just wants to be annoying as hell! This will stop! JoesphBarbaro (talk) 11:28, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@JoesphBarbaro: You can report him at WP:AN3 if he keeps edit warring, though. If you already tried to discuss with the IP user, yet the user made 4 reverts on the page in a day, he can be blocked. Epic Genius (talk) 15:52, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kew Gardens, I've nominated the tunnel article for inclusion on the Main Page, if you're interested. Epic Genius (talk) 23:37, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested. Thanks! Thanks for reorganizing the page. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 23:45, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The revert on the 4 train article[edit]

Union Tpke aka Kew Gardens 613, I reverted you because of the reasons that I've already explain to Philroc. How does it make sense to have a map template for any of the New York City Subway articles when we already have a full list of stations as they are? The map templates belong to the New York City Subway line articles, not the New York City Subway service articles. The 4 is a service, not a line. We don't need to go into any detail about the changes on the lines themselves, because they don't have an impact on any of the services that run on the aforementioned lines. Do you understand or do I need to make myself more clearer? JoesphBarbaro (talk) 21:57, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just 2 questions about NYCTF and that's it[edit]

Just want to ask 2 things about NYCTF and that's it:

1. How many more people upvoted that Fresh Pond nigga's post at the R32 M train thread? That snide comment of his?

2. What's currently happening at the R32 M thread? Everything became okay or are they (you youself included) still mad at me for pissing on the campfire? JoesphBarbaro (talk) 22:36, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been mad at you at all for anything you have done. Other people are mad because they get really irritated at your comments. I upvote both you and Fresh Pond, because both of you have a valid reason to be mad. --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 14:47, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Did Fresh Pond said anything else to me afterwards? I haven't been able to log onto NYCTF due to ongoing connection problems, but I'll manage the issue on my own. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 14:53, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fresh Pond said this: "And you mean to tell me this doesn't come off as being an a-hole?

You could've easily ignored the entire thread from the jump... " --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 22:19, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As soon as I get my connection problems solved, I'll return to the forums and start posting occasionally from then on. I might also consider in attacking that Fresh Pond nigga for being a prettyboy/Mr. Popular Pants too. I'll see you around. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 22:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Staten Island Railway[edit]

The article Staten Island Railway you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Staten Island Railway for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Epic Genius (talk) 16:42, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for helping! I appreciate it. --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 19:22, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, what would it take to have the article become A class? --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 19:27, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Kew Gardens 613: According to this, For WikiProjects without a formal A-Class review process, the proposal to promote to A-Class should be made on the article's talk page. To be granted, the proposal should be supported by two uninvolved editors, with no significant opposes. The review should also be noted on the project's discussion page. So open up a discussion at Talk:Staten Island Railway and then ask for consensus. You may also want to notify WP:NYCPT.
(Also, in case you're wondering, it may need a little more work to promote to FA-class. By "little" I mean a little more than a little.) Epic Genius (talk) 19:54, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
