Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Motifs in William Hope Hodgson's Fiction) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. For future reference:[edit]

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments and your user name or IP address and the date will be automatically added along with a timestamp. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you.

adoption[edit]

Hi there; I will happily adopt you, and I have added the adoption template to your userpage. I suppose you realise that, as you are in Korea and I am in the UK, we will not usually be on line at trhe same time. But leave a message here or on my talk page and I will get back to you. I am on line every day.--Anthony.bradbury 10:01, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Automated Message from HagermanBot[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 10:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC) .ThanksKfc1864 13:28, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will be on-line for the next 5 or 6 hours, so can contact you when you need to ask me something.

In regard to your comments on User talk:Panser Born[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, we remind you not to attack other editors, as you did here: User talk:Panser Born. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -Panser Born- (talk) 13:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contact[edit]

You have now asked me on two occasions to contact you later. I do not understand. When you have a specific problem, or question, I will contact you via your talk page to answer it. I am not going to contact you by any means other than via your talk page.--Anthony.bradbury 21:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Advice[edit]

I have just looked at your recent interaction with User:Panser Born. I would like to give you a few items of advice.

1. Always assume that a wikipedia administrator knows more about wikipedia than you do.

2. Always assume that a user who has been here longer than you, although he has no authority over you, knows more than you do.

3. Never, ever, be rude or offensive to any editor, however experienced they may be.

4. If you do not know something, recognise and admit it.

5. If you do not know, ask. Do not guess.--Anthony.bradbury 01:20, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox[edit]

When you send a comment to a user, you should either make a new heading by first clicking on the "+" box at the top of the screen, or if you are answering a previous comment put your answer with the said previous comment.

To answer your question, yes I can probably fix the box, but I need to know what it is trying to say. What is Scepia Empire Earth, and do you like it or hate it?--Anthony.bradbury 11:00, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To help you, I need an answer to this question.--Anthony.bradbury 13:52, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage[edit]

By the way, you claim on your userpage to have made 100 edits; you have actually made 77, half of them to your own page. By comparison, I have made about 6,300, and many editors have made more. The highest number of edits made by one person is over 150,000. Barnstars are awarded as a mark of gratitude or respect; you do not ask for them.--Anthony.bradbury 11:06, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you are prepared to engage in meaningful dialogue, there is no point in using the adoption process. Please let me know, within the next few days, whether you intend to communicate or not.--Anthony.bradbury 13:24, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I've been busy over the last few days.I'll talk whenever I can.Kfc1864 13:27, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstars and addition[edit]

I see your hoping for some barnstars. Before that happens its probably worth seeing the sort of contributions which are appreciated and which are not. Alas your contribution to addition falls into the latter category and has been reverted. --Salix alba (talk) 13:23, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Charles Box, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. DGG 08:58, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cricketers[edit]

I'm guessing that you're the editor who queried the notability of Yorkshire fast bowler Mel Ryan. Perhaps you're unaware that all first class cricketers, by wikipedia policy and precedent, are notable. Did you check up on this before you tagged it? The cricket archive and cricinfo references given on the page clearly establish these player's notability, as you'd have seen if you have actually looked at them. Please check up on these guidelines as they've been reiterated time and time again. You might like to check out the deletion discussion for 'Alfred Brown' for instance. If it wasn't you who tagged this, I apologise. If you still think first class cricketers aren't notable, then I suggest you tag this article for deletion and see what other editors think about it. Motto of the day nomination[edit]

I noticed several edits of yours, attempting to place your nomination under the "In review" section of the nominations page. The source of your trouble probably lies in the fact that the "In review" section is transcluded from Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review. To add your motto to that subpage, you can either click the section edit link on the nominations page, or go directly to the subpage. MotD welcomes your future contributions! --Tewy 01:26, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sea of Japan. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Thank you.

Please be advised that the wording of the "Naming dispute" section within Sea of Japan, has already been discussed in Talk:Sea of Japan. Any further changes must have enough consensus in Talk:Sea of Japan first, before you change it. Also, any additional material pertaining to the "Naming dispute" belongs in the Sea of Japan naming dispute instead, and not in Sea of Japan. Please be advised.--Endroit 15:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's with this edit summary? Deiz talk 03:42, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as another editor has noted in your editor review, I would suggest you change your philosophy on that. A gibberish edit summary is as bad as if not worse than no summary at all. As I'm sure you're aware, this is not the desired result of prompting editors to leave an edit summary. Cheers, Deiz talk 04:59, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Military history WikiProject coordinator election has begun. We will be selecting nine coordinators from a pool of fourteen candidates to serve for the next six months. Please vote here by August 28! Kirill 17:34, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined speedy (already done that twice) and nominated at WP:AFD, in which you are free to participate. Technically G4 requires that the previous post have been following an afd, which is now in the works but hasn't been done before on this (never survived that long I guess). Carlossuarez46 00:34, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry, the guy after you did then. Anyway, I still think it's nn but it keeps coming back so now it's at Afd. Carlossuarez46 00:37, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it might be a little early, but I'm sure I fixed all of Kirill's points (this was way back 2-3 weeks ago, can't remember)

And considering the effort I put in, I don't think it was a bad idea. Mr. Killigan 02:01, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You shouldn't have done that[edit]

If you would come into the WW2 template discussion page you would see that the image you reverted was approved to be better by a majority of 7-0, and theirs another guy who sopported it in the WW2 article discussion page, which made it a 8-0 concensus. You cant revert a picture chosen by a majority by the argument "i dont like it". When i was a new editor i also didn't know that so for the future, please first check discussion pages before making reverts. M.V.E.i. 12:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I read your statement you made on the South Korean hostage article's discussion and I was wondering if you would not mind weighing in on the current murder vs kill terminology used to describe the acts that were committed against the South Koreans. Being how wiki is about presenting an unbiased truth, I thought that the criminal act of homicide that was committed should be recorded and presented to the general public. However, others believe that murder has too much bias attributed to it and think that it should be killed so as to not say that the terrorists were unjust in taking the lives of their victims. While I agree that I was overboard with saying "murdered in cold blood," I do feel that murdered is truth and not in any way a form of bias. Would you mind weighing in on the article's discussion board?

1.5 month old GA review[edit]

I guess it can be moved, but is there an easy way to move it so that it is easy to find again for reference? Many of the points still need to be addressed before the article can be re-assessed again. wbfergus Talk 13:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Or maybe a specially named archive, similar to the Chinese Casualties archive? If this fails additional reviews, then there's an easy place to refer back to for continuing or comments from reviewers. I don't know for sure, but I'd like an easy way to refer back when I have the time to dedicate to try addressing some of the problems. wbfergus Talk 13:27, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, hopefully this helps. I've created an archive page just for the GA (and any future) review discussions. While I was at it, I also configured the page to automatically archive any discussions sections that haven't had activity in 30 days. As I was doing it though, I was wondering if it may be better to include the year and month in the archive name, instead of just an arbitrary, yet sequential, number. If so, if seems easy enough to setup for that. Ideas or suggestions? wbfergus Talk 16:04, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MOTD needs your help![edit]

You're listed as one of our contributors, but recent inactivity in the project has led us to be rather short on mottos. Currently, the schedule only has mottos up to August 12th, and that's only because I just spent half an hour or so filling them in! In order to make sure the project doesn't fold in, we need your help coming up with ideas for new mottos, commenting on active proposals, closing finished submissions, and your input on a new proposal to re-use some of our older mottos when we run out of new ones. Hundreds of editors see our mottos every day; if you can, please take some time out of your normal editing and drop by to help the project out. Thanks for your time. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:59, 31 July 2008 (UTC) P.S. - You're getting this because you're using {{User MOTD}}. If you don't want to participate any more, please remove the userbox. Thanks.[reply]

The Private's Letter[edit]

The lyrics of this song sounds like a letter written by a pravte. So, I think, The leeter from private sounds closer to Korean Name. The Private's Letter is just direct translation. --J. Eun 17:33, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
