Ways to improve 2014–15 Toledo Rockets men's basketball team[edit]

Hi, I'm Rubaisport. Littlekelv, thanks for creating 2014–15 Toledo Rockets men's basketball team!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. WP:TOOSOON this should be in a sandbox or draft format until details (eg. roster, schedule, etc.) about the season are announced.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Rubaisport (talk) 23:07, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Input requested for a college basketball !vote[edit]

You're a college sports guy, specifically basketball, so your input is requested at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College Basketball#Discussion on merit of D2/D3/NAIA team navboxes. Essentially, WP:CBBALL is trying to determine if cutting off team navboxes for Division I programs only is the way to go. Thanks! Jrcla2 (talk) 15:54, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond Head Classic[edit]

Thank you for creating pages for each year of the Diamond Head Classic! I reviewed 2009 and 2010, and found that the reference link provided was being redirected to the current year's bracket. Please verify those links as you add the pages or use an alternate reference, and please avoid bare links to protect against link rot. I've updated the '09 and '10 articles, please see those pages for use of the cite web template and an alternate reference source. Thanks! -Xpctr8 (talk) 19:10, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just moved the brackets for each season from the main page to its own, i'll find new sources for them. Thanks! Littlekelv (talk) 19:14, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking templates[edit]

When you create an article, template, category, or navbox, but then you realize after creating it that it cannot be moved or renamed but it should be deleted, you should add {{userreq}} to the top of the blanked page. If you're the author of the template and want it deleted, it's an uncontroversial delete that an admin will perform by your request. Please add {{userreq}} to Template:2014–15 Big Sky Conference men's basketball standings so that it gets quickly deleted. Thanks. Jrcla2 (talk) 20:24, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jrcla2, I've never made that mistake before and couldn't find how to delete it. I searched everywhere to find out how, not easily found. Now I know. Thanks again! Littlekelv (talk) 21:09, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Adding {{userreq}} is a nifty trick to know. It helps out a lot with housekeeping. Any user subpages you may have created (e.g. User:Littlekelv/test1) should be deleted too once you're through with them. Jrcla2 (talk) 13:37, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Game names on Schedules[edit]

Why is it wrong it put local promotions in the game name field such as, senior day or blue out, etc..? Also looks like NIU has a solid team this year. They beat Ohio & EMU already. User:BeerAndBasketball talk 04:28, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:BeerAndBasketball Game names from my understanding is for a specific game for either a tournament , homecoming, or rivalry game that's notable. A lot of games have promotions that are irrelevant for the history of the season, now if "senior day" or "blue out" were to be an important part of the season expand the article with a section written about it with references and give it more substance. Tables, pictures, and graphs do not count for an articles rating on most occasions. Take all of that out of the page and you end up with a few sentences about the teams season in most cases. I didn't think NIU was going to compete in the MAC with the soft schedule early but they do look good and Ohio is looking to go the other way sadly. I've had a bad habit of adding things that seemed important to me at the time early but think about the macro side of adding info to articles. Is it important that a game was a blue out 20 years from now? not really.Littlekelv (talk) 01:05, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, that helps out a lot. Yeah I also didn't think that NIU was going to do anything this season. User:BeerAndBasketball talk 20:55, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm debating making the 45 min drive to Athens to see the bobcats play them in 3 weeks, could be a good one. Littlekelv (talk) 17:32, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1917-18 Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team[edit]

Okay interesting enough when you go to 1916–17 Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team the page for that does not exist but you did make it-maybe create a redirect would be my best guess. Wgolf (talk) 20:11, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wgolf that's odd, i dont have that problem on my browser, when you looked it up did you use an endash? Littlekelv (talk) 22:54, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sphilbrick: Right now im working on team navboxs. I'd have to look up all the conferences Ive been though but I know ive completed a navbox for all teams in the MAC, BIG 10, and ACC. Honestly I'm just picking a conference and going down the list. Also having to create categories in this process. Taking longer than i anticipated. Feel free to help out. See Category:NCAA Division I women's basketball team navigational boxes for what's been created, some of those need edited or updated to match format.
