Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, PennDesign Communications, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Drmies (talk) 19:04, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the three important principles above. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:48, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying. What is the best avenue for an educational organization to request an update to its profile? PennDesign has a new dean as of July 1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.91.228.200 (talk) 15:04, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For editors with a conflict of interest it's considered best practice to propose changes to the article, based on reliable sources, on the article's talk page and to leave the implementation to uninvolved editors. You can add the code {{request edit}} to the talk page to raise awareness of the proposal. Huon (talk) 11:43, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that you have chosen to ignore the advice above and instead edited the article directly, in an arguably promotional way (to promote the school's "branding"). You may want to rethink that approach. Furthermore, you should review the disclosure requirements for paid editors and make sure that you comply with them. For now I will gut the article, remove all the unsourced or self-sourced content aggrandizing the Weitzman School and replace it with some independently-sourced content.
