Time for a fresh start...

The Wonder Weeks

[edit]

Your edits on The Wonder Weeks demonstrate that you have strong dislike for the book and its author. You have deleted statements of fact which are easily verified in RS, and have made changes with prejudicial implications, such as that the book is based solely upon research with primates, and that it concerns infant sleep schedules. Edit warring is inappropriate and does not strengthen your standing. Please confine your proposed changes to the Talk page and let all parties seek resolution there. Responses to your present comments there are forthcoming. So that this discussion can continue in a relatively de-escalated way, I am reverting your changes. If your feelings about this are so strong that you cannot be patient and engage in that process, further intervention may be called for.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

[edit]

Hi PizzaMan. I thought I'd leave a message here, rather than back-and-forthing in the edit summaries, since we both seem to be getting hung up on the reason for the edit, rather than the wording of the edit itself. Within the lore of Assassin's Creed time travel does not exist; the Reader has the ability to view possible timelines that diverge from the 'set course' (for lack of a better term), which is what Layla proposes they do – that they look to see if there was any possible future where humanity was hit but the 2012 extinction event, but learned a way to survive a second. That's all it is, there's no actual travelling through time; Layla isn't going to travel back to 2012. -- JascaDucato (talk | contributions) 09:11, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jasca Ducato:Thank you for explaining. Layla's proposal to look at different timepaths starting from the past (Desmond's final decision) is at least opening up the possibilityof time travel. After all, this is also the game where Isu spoke to Desmond through an assassin that lived centuries Earlier and that keeps introducing new kinds of matrix/rabbit hole moments. At the current state, it's ambivalent if time travel and/or a parallel universe will be introduced. I think the Layla / Reader dialogue is strongly hinting in the direction. Why else explore the "parallel universe" possibilities from an earlier timepoint than the present? Let's agree to disagree about this. Since there are multiple interpertations, let's stick to a phrasing that allows for all possible interpretations. That is: just state that they're trying to prevent "the extinction of mankind" (in general) and leave out the subjective interpretation that this is about preventing a second extinction event or perhaps the first one. Unless, that is, you can find reliable sources that support your interpretation. And if you do decide to look for sources, please enter an open question in your search enginge and report back a fair representation of what the sources say. PS is it okay if i move this conversation to the talk page? PPS: you're right on Eivor's gender on that talk page, it's canonically female; there's now a fine source.
