I see that someone replaced the Churchill quote about "The Few" in the article. I really have to object.

I own the DVD of this movie. It does NOT include Churchill's quote about The Few. It includes only two Churchill quotes. The first is a BBC broadcast reference to Churchill's speech of June 18, 1940, in which he stated that "The Battle of France is over; the Battle of Britain is about to begin." The second quote is, as I noted in my remark concerning the correction, from his November 10, 1942 speech in which he stated concerning the victory at El Alamein, "This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." This quote appears over the sky immediately before the list of pilots by nationality who flew with the RAF in the Battle.

I suppose it is possible that as originally released - although I do not remember it, and I DID see the movie in the theater - the movie included the quote "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." I will even agree that it makes more sense and is perhaps more relevant to what The Few did than the El Alamein quote of two years later. BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT ON THE DVD, IT IS THE EL ALAMEIN QUOTE THAT APPEARS, AND NOT THE QUOTE ABOUT "THE FEW."

Get a copy of the DVD and watch the ending, and you will see that I am correct. I would very much appreciate the restoration of my correction.

Please take a look at WP:FILMPLOT which sets an upper limit on plot section size, a limit of 700 words. Instead of adding detail to plot sections that are already long enough, or already too long, you might want to start trimming plot sections so that they are more concise. If you have watched the series, you will have observed that there are two "othering" terms used in it.

The students and teachers, notably Principal Weems, use the term "Normies" to describe people who don't have powers, gifts, or curses. The students sometimes use "Normies" as a synonym for the residents of Jericho, in much the same way college students use the terms townies or towners to describe residents of the town in which the college is located.

Both the residents of Jericho and the students and teachers at Nevermore Academy use the term "Outcasts" to describe people who have powers, gifts, or curses. Such usage goes back at least to the time of Joseph Crackstone. The folk at Nevermore further subdivide the students into groups depending on their genre membership. Vampires are referred to as "Fangs;" werewolves as "Furs;" and sirens as "Scales." It's not clear if merpeople (there is at least one enrolled at Nevermore) are covered by the term "Scales."

This being the case, in the entry on Wednesday all uses of the noun "outcasts" should be capitalized. It is being used as an othering group descriptive, the same way soldiers other the enemy with terms like Hadjis, Charlies, or Krauts. Roy Jaruk (talk) 17:48, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The entry on Uncle Fester's guest-starring role in Wednesday has him giving anything from mild ha-ha electric shocks on the order of a joy buzzer to serious electrical shocks to revive Thing after he was brutally assaulted by a then-unidentified opponent. The amount of power required for the latter cannot be generated by static electricity cause by rubbing his fingers together.

Going as far back as Jackie Coogan's Uncle Fester lighting up an incandescent bulb in the TV version of The Addams Family, he has shown the ability to generate his own electric power. In fact, it is not until Wednesday that he is shown rubbing his finger together as if he was Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid to gather energy to do something. Further, anyone who has ever experienced a static electric shock from, say, shuffling your feet on a room's carpet and then touching a doorknob , will testify the static electric shock lasts but an instant. Uncle Fester is shown putting out significant amounts of high electricity for many seconds at a time. That is NOT static electricity at work. He can sustain electric shock for several seconds. Therefore, I must conclude he is generating biogenic electricity like a electric eel, not storing a charge and discharging it in an instant.
