Thank you for uploading File:Namethisgame.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

Happy to help. I think the article could use more references; Wikipedia gets a lot of articles about bands, most of them failing the fairly high bar set by WP:BAND, so people are usually pretty quick to suggest deleting them. The AfD process is 7 days, but I would suggest adding additional references to the article as soon as possible. That's pretty much the goal of speedy deletions--remove articles which are sure not to make it through AfD or other deletion processes. People often overestimate their ability to judge what is an obvious deletion, however, particularly if they have not spent a great deal of time at AfD. This can be a frustrating experience for new users, often who possess expertise highly relevant to writing good articles.
I can appreciate the concerns about one user nominating so many articles for deletion. It is not at all uncommon for an editor to check contributions after nominating an article for deletion, and probably is not intended as a personal attack. Unless it seems like the nominations are tendentious or dilatory, I'd suggest just dealing with each one as best you can. The articles for deletion process relies on other editors to discuss the nomination, so personally motivated nominations rarely get very far. Indeed, it is fairly common for new users to be very zealous in their application of policy and guidelines. Curiously it happens in deletions more than other areas. I left a note on the user's talk page to remind him of WP:AGF. Sorry for the difficulty here, one of the challenges of a volunteer project is getting everyone working in the same direction. I think you missed that Biographies of Living Persons (BLPs) require more cites, they must be inline cites, and they must be of a higher quality. Blogs are OK, especially if they are written by de facto journalists, for example, but are normnally escewed. In a BLP, anything controversial has to be extremely well sourced. Take a look at Sharron Angle's bio; she's a controversuial person, so some extraordinary claims, such as that she might be a Scientologist, must be sourced by six or more good cites. The rules changes came about in large part because Wikipedia got a lot of bad publicity from the Wikipedia biography controversy, and in part because Jimbo Wales is a fan of Ayn Rand's philosophy of the right to privacy. Photo added to Stephen Tompkinson page[edit]

Thank you for awarding me a star for my work on the Stephen Tompkinson page. I have really enjoyed doing it. I noticed that you added a photo. Unfortunately, it's not particularly high quality. I wonder if you actually own the photo (i.e. took it yourself) and therefore have the needed rights to post it. If not, it will probably be eventually removed by Wikipedia. More importantly, I've never met Mr. Tompkinson, but someone who knows him professionally told me that he would probably prefer not to have a photo included with the Wikipedia article. I undid your edit, but I would love to find a high-quality, high-resolution head shot that would really do Stephen justice. i deleted the re-direct Orata to some kind of fish, as i'll need the title for a person of history, to write an article on this person, and having looked at the fish article i see Orata isn't mentioned, so if you would like to add Orata to the article then others would be able to locate the fish article via a search on the open web or inside wikipedia by the fact of Orata being included. You are invited to join us for a full Saturday (drop-in any time!) of social Wikipedia editing at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for our upcoming "WikiArte" Latin America Edit-a-thon, for Wiki Arte y Cultura Latinoamericana, a communal day of creating, updating, improving, and translating Wikipedia articles about Latin American art and culture.

Yes, there is a user, Beyond My Ken, who repeatedly edit wars over his "superior" layout. One way to know that he has touched an article is he always adds a comment at the end: "<!--spacing-->", which is also disallowed by a policy I can be bothered to look up right now. On Saturday April 30, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fourth Wikipedia edit-a-thon — or, #guggathon — to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia.

The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Asian Month, and Art+Feminism.

New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support.

Sunday June 5, 12-5pm: Women in Jewish History Edit-a-thon

Join us for a full Sunday of social Wikipedia editing at the Center for Jewish History (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to Women in Jewish History.

All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required.

Expanding coverage of Jewish women on Wikipedia makes these women and their creations discoverable, addresses the gender bias on Wikipedia in a positive way, and works to correct imbalances archival collecting practice and institutional projects that have historically silenced women's narratives.

A training session on editing Wikipedia will be held at 12:30 pm. Experienced Wikipedians will be on-hand to assist throughout the day. Please bring your laptop and power cord; we will have library resources, WiFi, and a list of suggested topics on hand.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Make edits! Ask questions! Be bold!

Join us for an evening of social Wikipedia editing at the Museum of Modern Art Library's second annual Wiki Loves Pride Edit-a-thon, during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to LGBT art, culture and history.

All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required.

Also featuring a lightning talk by CUNY students at the La Guardia and Wagner Archives on a project to document local 1980s HIV/AIDS activism on Wikipedia.

On Sunday, October 16, Wikimedia NYC will host a multimedia tutorial, workshop, and hackathon focused on Wikimedia Commons and the work processes for cultural multimedia wiki-projects.

The CommonsLab is the concluding "upload party" to the Wikipedia @ Open House New York Weekend photo scavenger hunt, and an accompanying Wikimedia Commons multimedia hackathon.

The event will take the form of a modified unconference, with sessions for photographers/creatives, editors/writers and hackers/software folks!

Join us for a full Saturday of social Wikipedia editing at the Museum of Modern Art (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to the lives and works of Latin American artists.

The WikiArte (Wiki Arte y Cultura Latinoamerica) edit-a-thon is a global campaign to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Latin American arts and culture and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia.

Featuring an opening Artists' Panel at 10am, with Sol Aramendi, Sharon Lee De La Cruz, and Marisa Morán Jahn, to be moderated by Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, curator at El Museo del Barrio.

The Museum of Modern Art and Fundacion Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros are uniting with international allies to focus on the lives and works of Latin American artists, architects and designers. With keystone events scheduled for October 22 in New York City and other cities throughout the month (Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Caracas, & others), the campaign aims to further similar goals to Art+Feminism.

All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required.
