Kersti Pärna

Kersti Pärna (aastani 1992 Kersti Tamm, sündinud 15. veebruaril 1960 Räpinas Põlvamaal) on Eesti teadlane epidemioloogia ja rahvatervishoiu alal.[1]

Kersti Pärna on teenistujate tütar.[1]

Ta lõpetas 1978 Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwaldi nimelise Võru 1. Keskkooli ja jätkas õpinguid Tartu Riikliku Ülikooli arstiteaduskonnas, kus lõpetas 1984. aastal spordimeditsiini eriala (MD). Aastal 1997 omandas ta Soomes Kuopio Ülikoolis rahvatervishoiu magistrikraadi (MPH) väitekirjaga "Smoking and associated factors among adolescents in Tallinn, Estonia". Doktorikraadi (PhD) kaitses ta aastal 2005 Helsingi Ülikoolis, väitekirjaga "Socioeconomic differences in smoking in Estonia: national and international comparisons".

Lisaks on ta end täiendanud 1993., 1994. ja 1995. aastal Põhjamaade Rahvatervishoiu Kõrgkoolis (Nordic School of Public Health) Göteborgis, 1994 Uppsala Ülikoolis, 1995 Helsingi Ülikoolis, osales 1994 ja 1998 Prahas Londoni Ülikooli epidemioloogia kursustel ning 2002–04 Helsingi ja Tampere ülikoolis rahvatervishoiu doktoriõppe kursustel.

Kesti Pärna töötas 1984–85 TÜ spordimeditsiini internina, 1984–92 Eesti korvpalli koondnaiskonna ja TÜ naiskonna arstina. TÜ tervishoiu instituudis töötas ta 1992–98 assistendina, 1998–2006 vanemassistendina, 2006–08 tervise edendamise lektori ja 2006-2010 epidemioloogia teadurina Seejärel jätkas ta töötamist tervise edendamise dotsendi (al 2008) ja epidemioloogia vanemteadurina (al 2010). Alates 2016. aastast kannab tema töökohaks olev instituut TÜ peremeditsiini ja rahvatervishoiu instituudi nime.

Dotsendina on ta üliõpilastele õpetanud peamiselt epidemioloogiat ja tervise edendamist.[1]

Uurimisvaldkond: rahvatervishoid ja epidemioloogia: sotsiaal­-majanduslikud erinevused suitsetamises ja alkoholi tarvitamises, riskikäitumisega seotud suremus. Üle 30 teadustrükise, õppevahendeid.[1]
