The Rural Municipality of Big Arm No. 251 (2016 population: 191) is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 11 and SARM Division No. 5. It is located in the southern portion of the province near Last Mountain Lake northwest of Regina.

The RM of Big Arm No. 251 incorporated as a rural municipality on December 11, 1911.[2]

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Big Arm No. 251 had a population of 184 living in 80 of its 118 total private dwellings, a change of -3.7% from its 2016 population of 191. With a land area of 689.35 km2 (266.16 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.3/km2 (0.7/sq mi) in 2021.[7]

In the 2016 Census of Population, the RM of Big Arm No. 251 recorded a population of 191 living in 81 of its 126 total private dwellings, a -4.5% change from its 2011 population of 200. With a land area of 699.32 km2 (270.01 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.3/km2 (0.7/sq mi) in 2016.[4]

Government

The RM of Big Arm No. 251 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the second Monday of every month.[3] The reeve of the RM is Sheldon Vance while its administrator is Yvonne (Bonny) Goodsman.[3] The RM's office is located in Imperial.[3]
