レオ・ロステン（Leo Calvin Rosten, 1908年4月11日 - 1997年2月19日）はアメリカの政治学者、小説家。代表作「ハイマン・カプランの教育」。
概要[編集]
1908年、ポーランドのウッチで、イディッシュ語を話すユダヤ人の家系に生まれる。 1910年に両親と共にアメリカに渡り、シカゴ大学政治学科で博士号を取得。 『ワシントン特派員』（1937年）は首都ワシントンにおけるジャーナリストの行動様式の研究である。 ニューヨークの夜間学校で、英語を学ぶ移民をユーモラスに描いた『ハイマン・カプランの教育』（1937年、「レナード・Q・ロス Leonard Q．Ross」というペンネームで発表）が特に有名である。また、『イディッシュの喜び The Joy of Yiddish』（1968年）はイディッシュ文化の紹介書として優れているといわれる。
