Abell 7はうさぎ座方向1800光年先にある、非常に淡い惑星状星雲である。直径8光年に広がった球形をしているが、球の内側に広がる複雑な構造はナローバンドフィルターによって撮影することができる。
Abell7の年齢は若く約2万年と推定されているが、中心星である白色矮星のWD 0500-156の年齢は100億年以上と推定されている[1][5][6]。この白色矮星は0.94秒角離れた赤色矮星と連星であるとされている[4]。
