Yaşamı
[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]3 Aralık 1944'te New Orleans'ta doğdu. 1974'te başladığı oyunculuk kariyerini 2020 yılındaki ölümüne kadar sürdürdü.Steel Magnolias, Monster's Ball ve Ray yer aldığı yapımlar arasında sayılabilir.[3][4] 1976 yılında Time Yılın Kişisi seçilenlerden olmuştur.
Ölümü
[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]76. doğum gününden yedi gün sonra, 10 Aralık 2020'de New Orleans'ta COVID-19 salgınının ortasında COVID-19 sebebiyle öldü. New Orleans, Louisiana'daki Mount Olivet Mezarlığı'na defnedildi. Ölümünden sonra "Outer Banks"in ikinci sezonunun "My Druthers" başlıklı altıncı bölümü onun anısına ithaf edilmiştir.
