Trochilinae, Trochilidae familyasına bağlı bir kuş altfamilyasıdır.[1] Tipik olarak, yanardöner metalik kırmızı, turuncu, yeşil ve mavi renk kuş tüylerine sahip olup kuş tüyünde ve boyutunda, kuvvetli eşeysel dimorfizm görülür.
