Removing asexuals and demisexuals
[edit]Asexuals and demisexuals aren't inherently LGBT, thus they do not belong in this template. Tdmurlock (talk) 20:04, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- I respectfully disagree. Asexual and demisexual people are subject to related discrimination and misunderstanding as sexual minorities and thus belong under the LGBTQ umbrella. Thisisnotatest (talk) 20:45, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Asexuality and its forms are considered LGBT inherently. DarknessGoth777 (talk) 05:31, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
Is Romania associated with note 11?
[edit]There is a note 11 but not a note 12. Romania is marked with note 12 and no country is marked with note 11. Is Romania actually note 11? Thisisnotatest (talk) 20:49, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Add African-American LGBT community to culture section. 2600:6C50:7EF0:71E0:511F:3D4E:C2A1:F2C7 (talk) 06:25, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: - this template is for a general overview on LGBT topics. There is a whole separate category of Category:LGBT by location and Category:LGBT culture by location which otherwise would also have to be added, which would make this template even bigger than it already is.
- However, I’m adding it to the more appropriate more precise template target being Template: LGBT in the United States
Sidebar expansion
[edit]Hi Raladic. I understand the concern about not overwhelming the sidebar, however, this a closed drop-down section, so the sidebar will stay limited in size unless [show] is clicked on. I also could've added a lot more pages, such as ones including years, but limited my additions and removed those I added which included this to trying and stop the sidebar becoming overwhelmed. What would you class as "high level related pages"? And can we come to some sort of a compromise on including some of these? Maybe we could open a new section or sections for some of them? Or maybe create a new sidebar for LGBT related media? It would be good to hear your thoughts. All the best. Helper201 (talk) 02:59, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- The way the LGBTQ sidebar is used is almost always in a partial expanded way, as it has a section expand, which is used on most pages.
- That's why the overlinking is not going to be useful for the LGBTQ sidebar as this is basically the main sidebar to get to top-level articles and then people typically navigate on from there to sub-articles, via more specific sub sidebars, or more commonly bottom navboxes, that's more or less how the navigation is structured for the hundreds of LGBTQ topic articles.
- For LGBTQ media, we have the Template:LGBTQ fiction and of course all sorts of other navigational aids related to LGBTQ articles under the Category:LGBTQ templates. As for the Slang term pages, we already have Template:LGBTQ_slang_terms.
- If you wanted to create sidebars as companions for those two media bottom navboxes for inclusion on those pages, that of course could be something you could do. Raladic (talk) 03:12, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
