2026 is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States from the British Empire.[1] The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The U.S. midterm election is scheduled to be held on November 3 of this year. In the federal government, the offices up for election are all 435 seats of the House of Representatives, and roughly one third of the Senate. Most states and territories will hold elections for their legislatures.
