A very handy template[edit]

My stars, look at this. Thanks for thinking of it, plugging it in — and for figuring out how to do it in the first place. — WFinch 01:46, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I owe it all to User:Jtomlin1uk, who got me curious about the navbox associated with Agatha Christie. I still haven't figured out why some of the links to the immediately previous and immediately following novels in the infobox don't work -- frankly, it's driving me nuts, so anyone who can explain THAT will have my gratitude -- but the navbox will help people to move between novels non-sequentially, which I at least find useful. It all worked fine for me just now, except for the Three Witnesses (book) link, which I fixed. That Three Witnesses (book) link and I are old friends. It's nice to offer such convenient navigation from the bottom of the page so people can leapfrog around, and to have the books split into those two groups. — WFinch 19:28, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I should have also said that I owe the inspiration to User:Henry Merrivale, who created the navbox for the works of John Dickson Carr writing as "Carter Dickson", which I merely copied. I was thinking today that in order to be really useful, the navbox should contain all the books Stout wrote -- at the least, all the mysteries. However, I will wait until I do the work of creating pages for Under the Andes and Her Forbidden Knight, etc., before making that idea a reality. I am not anxious to tackle a plot summary for Stout's Ruritanian romances, or How Like A God, which I only finished out of a sense of duty.
Someone cleverer than I has fixed all the links in the infoboxes for the individual pages of each of the Nero Wolfe books... now if they could explain to me why they don't always work in Ellery Queen and John Dickson Carr ... Accounting4Taste 19:39, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New section[edit]

I added a "related articles" section at the bottom of the template so there would be a place for Black Orchid Novella Award, Nero Award, and The Wolfe Pack. These are important and related to Nero Wolfe and there wasn't any other place to add them. I hope others agree. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 18:46, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Red links[edit]

Given the number of red links that appeared in September 2020, I'm wondering about the need for all of Robert Goldsborough's Nero Wolfe novels to be listed. Is an editor prepared to create an article for each of these 12 additional books? If not, I think the redlinked text should be removed. This is already a very busy navbox, and the titles are not redlinked even on the Robert Goldsborough (writer) article. — WFinch (talk) 15:53, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
