Other alumni[edit]

Okay, so why can't we keep them all in the template? If they have articles, I don't see why not. anemoneprojectors 20:22, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because half of them havent done anything notable at all. If you take for example American Idol, their list has less people from more contestants. I think that either the list is cut down to those who are actually notable for something, or it should be removed alltogeter. I mean, some of the contestants have achieved notable success without being in the top 2 - eg Chico (number 1 single) whilst others have accomplished very little - I dont think Nikitta Angus to use an example has had much success since leaving the show, and shouldnt really be on this list.

I think finding a suitable criteria for inclussion on this type of list would be useful. I dont have time to come up with one at the moment, but perhaps it could be based on sales figures, as well as any other degree of notability - some contestants have had more success on stage than some have in selling records. If they haven't done anything notable, they shouldn't have articles on Wikipedia. But if we want to include those who have had chart success or some other form of success (such as Brenda Edwards), we could possibly also remove Cassie Compton, Deniel Debourg, Ruth Lorenzo and Laura White. anemoneprojectors 19:05, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes i think getting rid of all those would be fair. I think there would be an argument for Cassie who apparently has a stage career going, but Daniel DeBourg has done nothing noteworthy post X-Factor - in fact, I think the only reason why he has a page is because he wrote songs before it. Ruth Lorenzo and Laura White may become notable in time, but its too soon to say, so they should also go, though I think someone else will eventully add them back anyway. Eoghan Quigg hasnt done anything notable post competition, but since he was a finalist, I think thats notable enough. (90.201.176.86 (talk) 20:16, 27 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I didn't mention Eoghan Quigg because I see from his article that he has an album out soon on a major record label and I can't see it not being a hit. The template used to be limited to those who had had hit albums and such, so I think we either do that again now, or include all contestants with articles. anemoneprojectors 20:42, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of Songs[edit]

I removed the link to this "link of songs from British reality contestants" article. Whilst I think a page with strictly X Factor contestants would be acceptable, I dont think the one thats there now really should be here. The list is also incomplete - in fact, the only X Factor content on it is Leona - none of the others are there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyleofark (talkcontribs) 18:15, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Judges[edit]

Geri Halliwell and many other judges have stepped in for Dannii while off, i think you should add them in down there. --86.151.199.124 (talk) 16:38, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

has Danni Minouge quit?[edit]

rumors have started circulating around twitter that Danni has quit the show due to australia's got talent clashing with this years The X Factor but no official word from Danni yet? Fatty2k10 (talk) 21:30, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

She has officially left The X Factor. –anemoneprojectors– 17:23, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Xtra Factor presenters[edit]

Why don't they "need" to be included in this template? Was there a discussion? They've been listed until now, so what's different? I think they should be included. –anemoneprojectors– 15:54, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think they should be included too, but as a separate section, otherwise it may look like Caroline Flack is a presenter of the X-Factor, which she isn't. GimliDotNet (talk) 17:39, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
True, though it then becomes more cluttered. –anemoneprojectors– 13:58, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They are presenters of The XTra Factor not The X Factor, they should be listed in a seperate navbox. --MSalmon (talk) 14:15, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The Xtra Factor doesn't need its own navbox because it doesn't have its own article and it would only have presenters in it. Someone made it and I redirected it as it's not needed. The presenters would be better suited to this navbox. Excluding them seems wrong. –anemoneprojectors– 15:04, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How about having the channel next to their name to make it more clearer (I know it's not a navbox but I can't think of anything else) --MSalmon (talk) 15:10, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking some sort of clarification on that would be good. Maybe a separate section as GimliDotNet suggested? –anemoneprojectors– 15:16, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think the years would be ok rather than a separate section as they are on different channels. --MSalmon (talk) 15:17, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've done a section - I like it. What do you think? –anemoneprojectors– 15:19, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine by me --MSalmon (talk) 15:20, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Caroline Flack[edit]

Hi, we don't need to list Caroline as a main presenter because she only presented backstage for the live shows in 2013. --MSalmon (talk) 23:16, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It's the kind of thing they've got people like Jeff Brazier to do in the past. –anemoneprojectors– 09:58, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Roman Kemp now has a Wikipedia article so I'm wondering if we should place him in this template, and if so, where? anemoneprojectors 08:36, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Finalists/other contestants[edit]

The contestants template has recently been merged with this one, so I'd like to suggest cutting out all the non-finalists and having the finalists per series under the finalists section, thus removing winners and other contestants. It may also mean the removal of Lucy Benjamin because I wouldn't know where to put her but WP:PERFNAV probably applies to her anyway.

Are there any objections? — ᴀnemoneᴘroᴊecтors 19:05, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
