Add pageant winners to notability guidelines?[edit]
Hello, I saw that you were a part of Women in Red and I hope you don't mind me asking a question. I believe that pageant winners are notable people, but unlike sports players I feel they're often considered "not important" enough, even though pageants are extremely important to a large part of the population, including mostly women. I was wondering if you knew of a way to get pageant winners added to Wikipedia's official notability guidelines? That way you don't end up with situations like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cherise_Haugen
In any case, I appreciate all the work you do, and I understand you must be very busy and may not have time to respond. Have a great day :) Lonehexagon (talk) 18:41, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in study[edit]
Hello,
I am E. Whittaker, an intern at Wikimedia with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.

Can we talk about editathon organizer tools?[edit]
Hi Camelia.boban, I’m a product manager at the Wikimiedia Foundation. My team's next assignment is to design and build a tool that will make life easier for people who organize and run editathons. Here's the project page. (Looking more closely at the events on this page, I just realized I should note here that Women in Red events probably don’t fit the scope of this project, since WIR already has its own sophisticated toolset and workflow.)
I’m reaching out to event organizers to learn more about your process and needs so I can better understand where you most need help. If that sounds interesting to you, I’d I’d like to set up a time when we might chat via video conference (Google Hangouts).
If you’d like to meet, please send me a contact email where I can reach you and I’ll be in touch. You can reach me here: jmatazzoni[at]wikimedia.org. You might also wish to let me know what time zone you’re in (I’m in California time).
I’m looking forward to learning more about your work. —JMatazzoni (WMF) (talk) 23:39, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

AfroCine: The Months of African Cinema Continues….[edit]
Greetings!
Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.
It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. Furthermore, there have been about 5 in-person gatherings of Wikipedians in different countries across the world to create articles about African(a) cinema!
We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!
- Article suggestions can be found here. You can also add to this list.
- Some notable reliable sources for African cinema can be found here. Again, this list needs expansion.
- Interested in Wikidata translation? check out the Occupation Drive, which is being led by Wiki Loves Women, in support of the contest and the project!
- Please remember to list articles you have created or improved in the Article Achievements section of the contest page, so that they can be easily tracked.
Thank you once again for being part of this global event!
Kind regards.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 22:50, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Looking for help[edit]
Hi,
I was looking for some small help. Recently I created a new article en:Kithaab i.e. es:Kithaab-a play about women rights issues- which has been copy edited and is ready for translation in various languages. Looking for your possible help in translating the article en:Kithaab es:Kithaab to your Italian language Wikipedia. If you are unable to spare time yourself then may be you like to refer the same to some other translator to get it translated in their own respective languages.
Thanking you , with warm regards

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October![edit]
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

Event coordinator granted[edit]
After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have temporarily enabled the flag on your account until 2019-11-11. Keep in mind these things:
- The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
- The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
- Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! stwalkerster (talk) 13:04, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
