File permission problem with File:Seldon2.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Seldon2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 18:42, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Underlined Passages (Band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Underlined Passages (s/t) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Reverts[edit]

Your articles that I made into redirects do not fit any notability guidelines. There is no charting or notable reviews. I will nominate them for deletion now, and you won't be able to remove the notice. --Jennica / talk 02:58, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jennica: That is tantamount to bullying, you never had a discussion about this and it DOES meet A7 and A10. Ricksanchez (talk) 03:03, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That is not bullying. It doesn't have any notable publications or charting. It's all at WP:NMUSIC. All you did was group a bunch of references for one sentence instead of utilizing them anyways. Maybe other editors can prove me wrong. --Jennica / talk 03:09, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jennica: If you would prefer the references be in a better order fine. Or even if you disagreed on the talk page it could have been discussed. I did mention that I added references. You said nothing and sneakily redirected to another band. That is bullying in my book and not how I have used Wikipedia and I have been here a long time. Unfortunately lost my old userpage login and username attached to this account but I have been editing articles on here for almost a decade. This is not the way I do things. We discuss first. If it is not notable I would probably agree with you. I don't want Wiki to be a promo page either, but this has referencing articles and is attached to another band. I am not out to clog up Wiki but the way you did this was not on the up and up IMHO.

It wasn't "sneakily". I didn't check back on your talk page and I won't get a notification unless you use the ping function ({{ping|USERNAME}}). Maybe the albums could be merged into the artist page with some collapsed track listings, perhaps. What's your old wiki username? --Jennica / talk 03:20, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jennica:

Then lets do that, I would be OK with collapsing some of the pages, to make it conform to what you think is acceptable. BTW I read again WP:NMUSIC and these pages do fit within these guidelines:

″Lots of sources

Examples:

   Keep: there are many, many, many sources available. – IFoundLotsofSources, 18:20, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Whilst showing the subject is mentioned in a number of sources, not all sources are reliable and may only be trivial mentions. Notability requires the presence of significant treatment of a subject in reliable independent sources, not just the mere presence of the searched-for term.

So lets go to the topic of triviality, which I believe is the crux of your argument against the references...

"On the other hand, the notability guideline doesn't require that the subject is the main topic of the source material, only that it's more than a trivial mention".

Both of these in WP:NMUSIC argue for Keep right there. Ricksanchez (talk) 03:30, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jennica:

I don't want to revert the rest of your redirects. What I would prefer is that we came to an agreement as editors on what you would like to see to make those pages acceptable. Otherwise I agree, let me revert and we can leave it to other editors. I think strong arguments could be made for Keep, but I would rather not just argue for keep and make stubs that we think are good stubs and fit with the spirit of Wikipedia. I just feel like you not discussing it first like this on the talk page of each article for other editors to see was why I got up in arms. Let me know. Merging into the Underlined Passages article. --Jennica / talk 03:51, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's done but I cannot withdraw the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Fantastic Quest. You can go there and say "Merge" like I did if you want. Sorry about all of this. --Jennica / talk 04:04, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jennica: Thank you for your excellent edits. And no worries, I would rather have to make my case to an editor like you than to let Wikipedia just become a wasteland of self promotion and glamor articles, so trust me I appreciate your prowess! Ricksanchez (talk) 04:06, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ricksanchez. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Coalizione del Volere, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Underlined Passages[edit]

Hi, the problem is that the article has significant contributions from NorthPark 1417 who has been blocked as a suspected WP:UPE so it would be best to keep the tag for the short term until it is all sorted out. I only removed the promo content namely the cherry picked quotes, if you can add neutral content please do. Also the album articles need to stay in draftspace for the short term but if you can edit them to be more neutral that will speed things up. The main problem as with nearly all NorthPark1417's album pages is that they read like adverts with glowing reviews and no bad reviews. If there could be a mix of good reviews and bad or mixed reviews that would be a big improvement, also the reviews are often cherry picked to focus on the songs the reviewer liked best while ignoring the songs he criticised so if that could be improved as well. I've had a quick look at the Nestor page and he probably does pass WP:NMUSIC as playing for several notable bands but i'll look more closely later, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 19:44, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:The Fantastic Quest[edit]

Hello, Ricksanchez. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Fantastic Quest".
