Whitney Adeshola Adebayo (born November 1997) is a British television personality and businessowner. After setting up a wig business in Camden Town, she rose to prominence when she was cast on the tenth series of the ITV2 dating series Love Island. She reached the final alongside partner Lochan Nowacki, where they finished in second place.

Life and career[edit]

Whitney Adeshola Adebayo was born in November 1997 in Camden Town, in North London. She is of Nigerian descent. [1][2][3] She studied at the University of Hertfordshire between 2016 and 2020, obtaining a 2:1 BSc in internet technology and multimedia.[4][5] She then became an entrepreneur and owns a wig business.[6][7] She set up the business, CC Hair, whilst studying in her second year at university.[8] The name stands for Candy Corner.[9][10]

In June 2023, she was announced as a "bombshell" cast member for the tenth series of the ITV2 dating series Love Island.[11][12] She entered on the third day of the series.[13][14] She was reported to be the highest-earning cast member prior to the series, earning roughly £50,000 annually.[15] Grazia magazine described Adebayo as the "perfect Love Island contestant", noting that she had quickly become a fan favourite and was "solidifying her space in the Love Island hall of fame".[16] Closer magazine added that she was the "main character" of the series.[17] Her interactions with fellow islanders went viral on social media and her personality was praised by viewers and critics.[18][19] In the series, she coupled up with Lochan Nowacki,[20] The pair reached the final and became the bookies favourite to win,[21][22] but finished in second place.[23]
