Template talk:Agatha Christie

Split?[edit]

This template is quite congested. Perhaps it would be worth splitting it off into, for example, several separate templates, one for each detective, all of which ultimately link back to Agatha Christie where you could find this one? asyndeton 17:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure I agree! The template can be hidden initially and expanded by those who want to see the authors other works. The "Detective articles" can give fuller lists of the works that pertain to each one. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Kevin. A template is needed for Christie because her works were so prolific and that means that is can look congested. Just one of those things!--Jtomlin1uk 14:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see the merits of both sides of this discussion, but I'd probably have to side against splitting up the template. I think it's better to have everything in the one place, as long as we don't go too far and start putting, say, every important person from film adaptations, etc. But having all her works in one place seems okay to me. (At least) three plays missing[edit]

I tried to add the titles of three more plays: The Rats, Afternoon at the Seaside, and The Patient. They're all one-act plays, not well known, and probably not important enough for articles, but I saw that other works which have no articles were included in this template. I looked at the source coding, and used {{.}}, but it didn't come out right. Can anyone help? Girlwithgreeneyes (talk) 10:39, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have time to add them in myself, but I'd point out that the template actually uses {{·}}, not {{.}}. If you copy-paste, maybe that will fix the problem. Hope that's all that's needed. Princess Lirin (talk) 20:48, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I should have noticed that. I've added them now, by copy-pasting. Girlwithgreeneyes (talk) 23:47, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
These three plays are parts of a collection "Rule of Three",which is included in the list, and were performed as a unique play "Rule of Three". I delete them to avoid duplicating. Zapryagaev (talk) 15:22, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some missing heros[edit]

Christie has a lot of dedective heros. Only a few of them have been listed. (Where are Col. Race, Arthur Calgary, Stafford Nye, Bundle etc.) If only the recurrent characters are shown, then the names Parker Pyne and Mr Quin should be deleted. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 19:49, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

US/UK collections[edit]

Would it make sense to split the "Short story collections" section into "UK short story collections" and "US short story collections", since so few were published in both countries? I find it confusing to have them all jumbled together since most stories appear in one of each, so readers are likely to be interested in either one or the other, not both. Other statues?[edit]

Is it worth (or necessary) to include in the Depictions section the bust of Agatha Christie in Torquay and the statue recently unveiled in Wallingford, Oxfordshire [1]? YSG (talk) 06:20, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
