David Burton-Sampson is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Southend West and Leigh since 2024.[1]

Career[edit]

He was deputy leader of the Labour Group on Basildon council.[2]

He unseated the Conservative MP Anna Firth, who had won the seat in a by-election after the murder of longtime MP Sir David Amess in October 2021.

Personal life[edit]

He is gay[2] and is married to his husband Mark.[3]
