Josh Simons is a British Labour Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Makerfield since 2024.[1]
Life[edit]
Simons was educated at St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a degree in history and politics, winning the Goody Prize for academic excellence.[2] He then studied for a PhD in the Government Department at Harvard University, where he was supervised by a committee that included the academics Michael Sandel and Richard Tuck.[2][3] Upon graduation he was made director of the think tank Labour Together,[4] before being replaced by Jonathan Ashworth after the latter lost his seat at the 2024 general election.[5]
